Did you know we have moved?

Many have called to ask "Where are you now?" We have moved to 2517 Ryan Street.

Our new location is across from the Casa Manana Mexican Restaurant.

Hours are:

Monday – Wednesday 10:00 am – 5:30 pm

Thursday – Saturday 10:00 am – 7:00 pm

We are open on crop nights till Midnight.

You should SEE us now.

We are excited to be able to bring in many new items, new classes, new ideas and new teachers. Come see us now. The store is bigger, the crop room is bigger and the kitchen is even bigger. Our new facility lends itself more to what we need and what you look for in your Local Scrapbook Store. We are pleased with the amount of room we have and the new product lines we will be able to carry.

Have you looked at the CROP Room? We can now seat 34 people with no over-crowding. We can seat 18 without sharing tables. Some may find it difficult with so much room available to them yet we know they will soon learn how to make use of every inch available. LOL

Did you know that we are open daily for cropping?

WE now have MORE lockers available for rent. Locker rental is currently $5.00 per month per locker.

Thank you for all your patience. The new computer system is working we do still have a few bugs in the program but are working on our understanding of them. We have several items on the clearance tables. Come check out the 50% OFF SALE.

Something NEW from Russ

OK some of these you will have read before however please continue to the end for something to think about.

Out of the Box thinking

Three quick quizzes

Here are two quizzes. If you get every answer wrong you can still get 100% by simply getting the point which is beyond the reasoning of the basic questions. There is a third quiz which you should never fail.

ONE

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Who were the winners of the last winter Olympics?

4. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.

5. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

6. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.

7. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do? Well? Or not?

Well or not, the point is, none of us remember most of the headliners of yesterday..

These are NO second-rate achievers.

They are the best of the best in their fields and we don’t remember them.

But the applause dies..

Awards tarnish.

Achievements are forgotten.

Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

TWO

Whereas you understood the point of that simple quiz; that we don’t remember the best of the best for their greatest achievements and you got 100% on that main point; this next quiz is easier but no less valued.

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2. Name up to three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name some people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special!!

5. Think of up to five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life, that you remember and enjoy, are not the ones with the most credentials; the most money; or the most awards. They simply are the ones who care the most, at least expressed some of that care toward you and for you. They did it even before you learned to care about others, including them, before you learned to make a difference in others lives, before you were memorable. These people became memorable to you, and you think fondly of them.

Good lesson?

If you learned anything or were impressed by this new understanding, it isn’t new but your awareness may be new, now take the next step. This awakening may mean that this basic thought process was not part of your character, though you knew it …ort of knew it. This next quiz can be difficult unless you apply due diligence and take it home. Apply it to you.

We don’t remember the best of the best achievers and somehow we think we are going to be remembered with fondness because we have;

A complaint.

A pain

An ache

A hustle

Spoke harshly

A last word; (so I asked, who does she think she is talking to?)

An achievement; (I tore that motor down with a pair of pliers, hammer, and screwdriver. Or we finally did something we consider so wonderful we become a braggart, (so I gave him my last dollar)

"No one cares how much YOU know till they know how much YOU care." You know this statement is true in your own mind by how and what you think of those who cared about you. Notice it is only certain people that came to mind, only certain ones you remembered in that second quiz. It was the ones who SHOWED they cared, who are the ones you remember fondly. So don’t show US what you know or can do, till you show US how much you care about US. Then we can learn a lesson from you. You can positively influence us, just like you were by others who cared about you. You can then impress us like those who impressed you. We too will be able to look back on you with fondness, just like you have of others. That; is a far better lesson.

It is not that you don’t do any good, you do. Now make it and keep it as part of your character. Don’t suffer with a long face in silence; don’t complain about your troubles or complain about others. Don’t be a braggart. Wow, some of us would then have nothing to say, we would have to learn a whole new vocabulary. Rather show others you care by your actions.

Most importantly do not focus on just you with this. Spread the concept; in your own words or mine, to others so they can help people, and these people can help yet even others. Show us all by how you live and how you care. You then will pass the test. We will remember you with fondness. You will be known as one of good character, which may be an improvement to what some think of you now.

Sent from someone who cares about you: a fellow human being.

A Piece of the Heart

I always count it a privilege to say I know you. You are my sister, my friend. We are of the same family. We have walked the same roads, traveled distances near and far. We are a wife, mother, chauffeur, co-laborer. We balance the budget and make grocery lists. We listen to little ones cry on our shoulders and we have cried on another’s shoulder as well.  We are weak and we are strong. We stand together and alone. We are women young and old we are men fighting strong. We are American. We were born Free. We will survive even through the worst adversity because we stand together through FAITH.
